Artist Bellajya is usually into her music, studies and family life. But lately she has went back into a former creative niche and pulled forth a new creative idea to get involved in. Now, 26 years of age, artist Bellajya is ready to expand her creative franchise.
"Yeah, I just use to write stories, and most where fantasies. Any knowledge I've gained in life often is reflected in most of my stories. The real "bizarre wiritngs" of mines come from lucid dreaming. Its the one thing, I can do while sleeping is create alternate realities or stories, my music is a conscious endeavor in comparision." -Bellajya
What made you decide to write an science fiction graphic novel?
"To be honest, I dont consider it a science fiction, i consider it a means to what really happened. In a sense, it is fiction because the characters are made up, but what they are capable of, I feel is the way things were in Ancient High Culture Societies in the oldest kingdoms of Africa; full of awe."
Jasmine then in a short brief wording explans her plans to branch into different avenues, one of them being her primary concern for film.
"Its time African American/ Black people start widening our imaginations in the media, anyway. Why can't we have vampire films, werewolves, even more social roles in movies. Its like a repetition of Tyler Perry films, even though he is clearly trying to expand and get different roles for our people. We can have super-hero movies, action pack thrillers, mysteries etc..There is more to our history than slavery!"
Words cannot express how brilliant of a mind and artist BMA LaDon is. For this article I have chosen to run things slightly different. Doing a Question and Answer forum would not do this mans concepts and wise prophecies justice. Therefore, dear audience I would like for you to take your time and allow this man words and music to speak for themselves.
Presenting the Word of BMA LaDon
My name is BMA LaDON, BMA originally this stood for Breezy
Mane Apollo ,which I took on as a music alias in high school. However, as of
late i refer it to Be Myself Always and LaDON. The idea came along while I was in
college so BMA LaDON became some what of a signature...."Be Myself
Always....LaDON".
I was born and raised in Warsaw, NC located on the west-side of Duplin
County.
Growing up in the 910 had its ups and downs. There isn't much to do and
trouble is easy to find, but there is a certain peaceful quiet and simple
country living that can make you fall deeply in love with the nine
dime(910).
Since a young boy, my older brother schooled me in the music that shaped
the 90's and early 2000's. He taught me how to listen not only with my
ears but also with my mind and heart. Ive always written poetry or short
stories since i was a kid but I'll have to say that 2006 was the year I
noticed I had talent with wordplay and I posess the ambition to take it
somewhere.
I'm originally a singer and I've always been talented with writing, but rapping is becoming my main focus lately. To myself personally, I consider myself a "well-rounded" artist. People see me and notice my size, the black tee
shirt and the locs in my hair and automatically judge me from off that
depiction. But when they get to know and hear me they notice that "looks
can be deceiving."
I meet most of the members of Family First through my bro Nkosi aka
Pyrex who has been my right hand since the 1st time we exchanged names
in college. Ever since then its been music, "meditation", and more
music. I then met Bongo in 2013 and Family First Entertainment or Double F,
came about in 2014 so now we are here!!!! I feel as if Family First is a
collective of talent and genres and a dedication to the improvment of
not only us individually but collectively as a movement.
I feel like if your music is an exact reflection of yourself personally, then how can
the world misunderstand you or your ideals.
I try not to separate who i am from what i speak musically.
I believe that my path is greatness and my message is immortality for me
and my bros. Not only the continuation of life, but instead the continuation
of our ideals and music.
I tend to zone out in my music and ideas and blend them together and
after that its all cream!!!
B.A.M.N. (the single), was, in my mind, a reawakening for our race. We lose sight of
our true heritage and inheritance with today's media and stereotypes and
our history seems to be forgotten or installed in a couple of chapters in
a history book.
We were born in greatness, stolen away from greatness,
and shall one day return to greatness.
In 5 years time I see proseperity and success for Family First Ent. and
myself. By that time i plan to at least drop my debut album and
introduce the 910 and the world to Immortality.
I don't seclude "my people" to a certain race or ethnic group. My people
are the freethinkers. The brave who dare to defy societies holds and
customs. The ones who partake in the Nectar and Ambrosia of this life
and willing to climb the highest peak of Mount Olympus to dwell within
the resolution of Immortality.
My name is BMA LaDON. I am not your average typical artist. I am about me,
myself and my Family so its "Double F, more than flesh...".
"From my view atop Mount Olympus,
Nectar in
my cup and Ambrosia in my swisher...." - BMA LaDON
Birth name? What is your artist name? What is the meaning? Where were you born and raised? My name is Joshua Smith; my stage name is Jay Rell. I don’t no fancy meaning or anything my first name Josh, so I took the J out of Josh and the R out of my middle name which is Terrell. I was born in Raleigh, NC raised in the Sampson (Turkey) and Duplin County (Warsaw) area, 9dime Baby!.What are considered a few successes in your career? And where do you expect to go in the next 5 to 10 years in your career?
Recently my crew (F.A.M.M) and I competed in this celebrity status competition for 2hotradio.com, as one of the Reps from NC, to compete for a very lucrative prize that could give our crews a boost, I also competed in my school’s “Viking got talent showcase” unfortunately I didn’t move on to the next round of the competition, But it was real good exposure. And I recently graduated from ECSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. That’s a major accomplishment for me because I feel like the education is going to help me in the long run. 5 to 10 years from now I expect to be a Business mogul not just music, music is just the start, I could see could myself conquering the Big Screen also How is life currently compared to when you were growing up?
Lol “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get” as Forrest Gump would say but for real life is a beautiful thing, I’m enjoying the experience. It’s a little harder now in the real world, back in the days momma took care of everything.
When it comes to creating, what exactly is the “method” to your madness? I like to be by myself most of the time, just me and the beat. I try to become one with the beat and just write what’s on my mind. But sometimes me and the crew be in the lab bouncing ideas off each other. When I’m making a beat it’s the same way, I can think Cleary when I’m in my on space. Describe what type of music you make?
Rap and Hip hop and, but to take it a little farther I would say I make eccentric trap music, but I don’t like to be boxed in because I love music, enjoy making it and willing to try new things, to make the culture better and push it farther. In the song “Let it Go” what exactly is the message? By the way the song is great
Thank you I’m glad you enjoy it! S/O to Dre Anderson of Eazy beats. The overall message of the song is for people to be real, keep it straight don’t claim a life you don’t live. How do you feel about the 910 rap game? And what is the standard you set yourself and others to/any advice? I think the whole NC music scene is dope; there are a lot of talented artists from rap to R&B special S/O to my crew F.A.M.M, my homies FAN Gang who are making some major moves, DSK, and young Saint. That’s just a few I named, but I truly believe Carolina is next, J. Cole was the beginning! Advice I would give other artist is live your dream and perfect your craft. What inspired you to make “November 27th freestyle
I did Nov. 27th for my birthday, I had just turned 22 and wanted to drop a freestyle celebrating my birthday.Who are the artists that inspired you coming up?
For real For real a lot of Rap/Hip Hop artist would say Biggie and 2Pac but for me when I was growing up I seen Bow Wow and Romeo killing the game at a young age. I knew since then I wanted to make music and perform. I also was a Big fan of Mase and Ludacris. What are your views on life success and happiness?
Having lots of money and women (Laughs) just kidding but that would be nice.
Success and Happiness come from the inside you being happy and satisfied with yourself and being able to spend time with love ones and people you care about. To me that’s true success and happiness.
